How to Open Bidding on a Service

Last updated March 24, 2026

Every service your building might need already has a standing project on Kindo. Any active club member can open bidding when the time is right.

Opening bidding

From your building's service list, find the service you need and tap "Open Bidding." This tells qualified vendors your building is ready for quotes. You don't need to be the organizer — any active club member can do this.

Single-service and multi-job requests

Most requests are for a single service — like dryer vent cleaning or window washing. But some services naturally involve multiple types of work. For example, you might create a plumbing request that covers both drain unclogging and leak repairs in the same visit. When you set up a multi-job request, neighbors can choose which specific jobs they need during sign-up.

How neighbor interest works

Once your request is live, neighbors can indicate they're interested. As interest grows, Kindo uses that signal to find qualified vendors and collect bids on your building's behalf. More interest means better pricing — vendors offer stronger rates when they can serve more units in a single visit.

What happens next

Qualified vendors will submit bids. Any club member can review the bids and select the best fit for your building. From there, sign-ups open and your neighbors can commit to the service at the quoted rate.

Tips for getting great bids

  • Time it well. If neighbors are already talking about a need — like the start of AC season — that's the moment to open bidding.
  • Share it. Use the share link to let neighbors know in your building's group chat, email list, or in person.
  • Express interest first. The more neighbors who express interest before bidding opens, the better rates vendors will offer.
