At Kindo, your trust matters most. We collect only the information we need to help your building run smoother, your services get delivered on time, and your experience get smarter with each use.
1. What We Collect
We collect information you share (like your name, apartment number, and contact info) and basic activity data (like which campaigns you join or services you book).
We may also collect aggregated building-level insights—never personal details—to help optimize vendor routes, pricing, and participation forecasts.
2. How We Use It
We use this data to:
- Run and improve the Kindo platform
- Recommend relevant vendors and group opportunities
- Power AI features that make services more efficient and fairly priced
Our AI uses anonymized patterns, not your personal identity, to learn how buildings organize and save together.
3. Your Privacy Choices
We never sell personal data.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection and are never stored on Kindo's systems. We keep only Stripe's reference IDs so we can match a payment to your booking.
We store data securely and work only with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf. This excludes text messaging opt-in data and consent, which we do not share with anyone. The contractor who performs work you book is not one of these providers — they are an independent business, and section 5 explains what we show them about you.
You can request to view, correct, or delete your data at any time by using our Contact Us form.
4. Text Messages (SMS)
If there is a mobile number on your Kindo account, we text you about things that need you soon: your appointments and visit confirmations, messages from a contractor or your building's organizer about your job, and a payment that didn't go through. If you are a contractor, we text you day-of job details, messages from residents and the paperwork a booked job is waiting on (the certificate of insurance and the building's indemnity agreement), and you can separately choose to receive capacity texts, which stay off until you turn them on. You can turn texts off at any time in Account → Notification Settings, or reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance. Message frequency varies with your service activity, and message and data rates may apply.
We use your mobile number only for the texts described above, and we send you no marketing or promotional texts. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Showing your number to a contractor is a separate thing, explained in section 5.
5. What the Contractor Sees
The contractor who does work you book through Kindo is an independent business. They are the seller of that service; Kindo is not the one doing the work, and they are not a provider working on our behalf.
To do the job, the contractor and their crew see your name, your apartment number and your appointment. We show them these by email and in their Kindo account. When we text a contractor, the text identifies you only by your apartment number. It never includes your name, your phone number, or anything you wrote to them.
Your phone number. If there is a phone number on your Kindo account, we show it to the contractor and their crew for each job you book, so they can reach you on the day they come. You can tell us not to share it for any job, when we ask you in the app or at any time through our Contact Us form, and we stop showing it from then on. If you do, the contractor sees that you asked us not to share it, so they know to reach you another way. Declining costs you nothing: same appointment, same price.
The contractor can see your number in their Kindo account until the job is marked complete, or until 90 days after its last day of service if that is later. Cancelling your booking does not change this, and if a job is cancelled rather than completed, they can still see it. We also include it in the schedule and day-of emails we send them, and we cannot recall a number a contractor has already been sent.
If you won't be home. We may ask how the crew gets in if you're not there: for example, that the front desk has your key, or that someone else will let them in. If you name someone, we ask for their name and, if you have it, their mobile number. We show their details, with any note you add, to the contractor and their crew by email and in their Kindo account, for that visit, until a week after the appointment, so the crew can reach them on the day. Give us someone's details only if they have agreed to be contacted. We don't use their details to contact them ourselves, we never text their details to anyone, and we don't add them to any list. We don't show their details to your neighbors. We cannot recall details a contractor has already been sent. Telling us someone else can let the crew in means you're okay with the crew entering the apartment with them.
We do not sell your number or theirs, and we never share either with anyone for marketing.
