Welcome to Kindo — an easier way for neighbors to organize and save on home services together.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") explain how Kindo works and what you agree to when you use our platform.
Kindo is operated by Kindo Corporation, a Delaware company ("we," "us," or "our").
By using our website, app, or any related services (the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. What Kindo Does
Kindo connects residents, organizers, and vendors we source and compete against each other so buildings can coordinate group home services like AC maintenance, cleaning, and more.
We make it easier to organize, schedule, and pay—but we don't perform the services ourselves.
Vendors are independent businesses, and all jobs are delivered by them directly to you.
2. Who Can Use Kindo
You need to be at least 18 years old and able to enter a legal agreement.
Please make sure the information you provide is accurate and that you keep your login details secure.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate our policies or misuse the platform.
3. Payments, Fees, and Tax
Payments are handled securely through our payment partner (such as Stripe).
When you pay for a job, you are buying from the vendor, not from Kindo. The price is the vendor's price, and Kindo collects it from you as the vendor's disclosed agent — paying Kindo settles what you owe that vendor for the job.
Kindo is paid by the vendor, not by you. Our platform fee is a commission on the vendor's base price, agreed with that vendor, and is deducted from what the vendor receives. It is never added on top of your price.
What you pay is the vendor's price, plus any sales tax the vendor charges on it, plus the cost of processing a card payment — what our payment partner charges to accept your card. That processing amount is the only charge added on top of the vendor's price and the tax, and it is shown as its own line on your receipt.
Any sales tax on a job is the vendor's tax on the vendor's own sale. The vendor decides whether their work is taxable and at what rate. We pass 100% of that tax through to the vendor with their payout; filing and remitting it to New York State is the vendor's responsibility. Kindo does not remit sales tax on anyone's behalf and does not decide whether your job is taxable.
Some work — typically a permanent improvement to your home rather than a repair — is exempt from New York sales tax as a capital improvement. That determination is between you and your vendor, made using New York State Form ST-124, which your vendor gives you to sign and keeps in their records.
Refunds or cancellations follow the policy shown at the time of booking. A refund reverses the vendor's sale, including any sales tax you paid on it, and Kindo administers it on the vendor's behalf.
Vendors are responsible for their own taxes and insurance.
4. Organizers and Vendors
Organizers start group campaigns for their building. They agree to represent details accurately and get any required building approvals.
5. AI and Data
Kindo uses data and machine learning to make the experience smarter—like suggesting good times for group jobs, forecasting participation, or recommending vendors.
These tools are advisory only; final choices are yours.
By using Kindo, you agree we can use anonymized data to improve the platform and power these features.
We don't sell your personal data.
6. Communication and Reviews
Please keep all messages respectful.
Reviews must be honest and based on real experiences.
We may remove content that's false, abusive, or violates others' rights.
7. Our Responsibility
We work hard to keep Kindo reliable and secure, but we can't guarantee every service or vendor outcome.
Kindo isn't responsible for:
- Work performed by vendors
- Building or HOA restrictions
- Service delays or cancellations outside our control
- Property damage or loss caused by vendors
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability is limited to the lesser of $100 or the total Kindo fees you paid in the past 12 months.
8. Intellectual Property
Everything you see on Kindo—our name, logo, designs, and software—is owned by Kindo Corporation.
You agree not to copy or misuse any part of the Platform.
9. Disputes and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, with any arbitration taking place in New York City.
If there's a disagreement, we both agree to resolve it individually through binding arbitration, not in court or as part of a class action.
10. Updates
We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make material changes, we'll notify you on the site or by email.
Continuing to use Kindo means you accept the new Terms.
