How Does Group Buying Work?
Last updated March 10, 2026
Kindo coordinates group buying so your building gets better rates and insured vendors without any of the usual headaches. Here's what happens from start to finish.
Step 1: A service request starts
It begins when an organizer or member identifies a service the building needs — like AC maintenance, window cleaning, or dryer vent cleaning. Some requests cover multiple related jobs in a single visit, like a plumber who can handle both a drain unclog and a leak repair at the same time. The request goes out to your building club so neighbors can express interest.
Step 2: Neighbors express interest
As neighbors indicate they're interested, the group grows. More participation generally means better pricing, because vendors can serve many units in a single visit rather than making separate trips.
Step 3: Insured vendors submit quotes
Kindo finds qualified vendors and collects quotes on your building's behalf. Every vendor that quotes your building carries proper insurance with documentation on file. You don't need to call around, compare quotes, or check credentials — that's handled for you.
Step 4: A vendor is selected
Your organizer reviews the quotes and selects the best option for your building. Pricing is transparent — you'll see the rate for your specific unit before you commit to anything.
Step 5: You sign up
Once a vendor is selected, you can sign up for the service. You'll provide a payment method, but you're not charged yet — payment is only processed after your vendor confirms the booking.
Step 6: Service is delivered
The vendor comes to your building and completes the work. Because multiple units are being serviced in the same visit, the vendor works efficiently and your building benefits from coordinated scheduling.
Step 7: Confirmation and payment
After the service is complete, you confirm the work was done. Your payment is processed and the vendor is paid. If for any reason the service wasn't completed, you can report it and your payment won't be released.
