How Bidding Works

Last updated March 10, 2026

When a building on Kindo needs a service you offer, you may receive an invitation to bid. Here's how the process works from your side.

Finding opportunities

Opportunities appear in your dashboard. Each one shows the building address, the service needed, and the number of interested residents. You can also watch specific buildings in your area to be notified when new opportunities open up.

Submitting a bid

When you're ready to bid, you'll submit your pricing. Kindo uses a tiered pricing model — you set rates based on volume. For example, you might set one rate for a single unit, a better rate when you're servicing a full day's worth of units, and an even better rate for multi-day jobs. This rewards buildings that bring you more volume.

Some opportunities include multiple job types — for example, a plumbing opportunity that covers both drain unclogging and leak repairs. For these, you'll set your pricing for each job type separately. This lets you price each type of work based on its actual scope.

If your pricing varies based on specifics — like the type of countertop material for a sealing job — you can set different rates for each option. You can also set a minimum number of signups needed for specific options. If that minimum isn't reached, those residents won't be charged and you won't be expected to perform that work.

What buildings see

The building's organizer reviews all submitted bids and selects the best fit. Buildings can see your pricing, your ratings and reviews, and whether your insurance is in order. A strong track record and proper documentation work in your favor.

Winning a bid

If your bid is selected, you'll be notified and the booking process begins. You'll need to submit your insurance documents for that specific building (see Insurance & Compliance Requirements). Once insurance is verified and residents have signed up, you'll confirm the booking and the service is scheduled.

Tips for strong bids

  • Competitive pricing matters, but it's not the only factor. Buildings value quality and reliability just as much as price.
  • Respond to bid invitations promptly — buildings may have deadlines.
  • Keep your profile complete and your insurance current. Delays in compliance slow everything down.
  • Your track record on Kindo builds over time. Every completed job and positive review strengthens your position for future opportunities.
